Few would dispute that measuring workforce diversity is essential to supporting our diversity and inclusion work, yet traditional approaches to measurement have been either ineffective, resisted, or relegated to irrelevance. In part, this is because current metrics approaches track lagging indicators that illustrate the score after the game is over rather than providing leading indicators of where things could end up, while giving organizations and diversity and inclusion leaders a chance to change the trajectory.
Agenda
Few would dispute that measuring workforce diversity is essential to supporting our diversity and inclusion work, yet traditional approaches to measurement have been either ineffective, resisted, or relegated to irrelevance. In part, this is because current metrics approaches track lagging indicators that illustrate the score after the game is over rather than providing leading indicators of where things could end up, while giving organizations and diversity and inclusion leaders a chance to change the trajectory. Next generation diversity calls for a new approach to measuring diversity and inclusion that moves us beyond Monday-morning quarterbacking to being able to predict the future.
Predictive analytics allow us to anticipate future outcomes with greater certainty that ever before. As a result, we’re able to make better D&I-related business and talent decisions. In this web seminar, we’ll explore how diversity and inclusion metrics can be used to predict engagement, productivity, representation, turnover, and innovation outcomes in an organization. In addition, we’ll address how to measure the impact of diversity from a marketplace perspective. Attendees will gain insight on best and next practices in diversity and inclusion metrics that can be implemented immediately for business success.

We are familiar with the judgments: Tech-savvy Millennials want career-advancing assignments without paying their dues. Gen Xers are waiting patiently for Baby Boomers in senior positions to step aside so they can move up the corporate ladder. Out-of-touch Boomers who are stuck in their ways are hindering corporate progress. As a diversity professional, you're keenly aware of the challenges that come with having multiple generations in the workplace.

But how can we move beyond these unproductive ideas to leverage the vital and unique contributions and perspectives each of these generations brings to the workplace?
In this Web seminar, you will learn how to maximize generational differences in meaningful ways to make your workforce more effective. Learn how you can help your Gen Y employees become more influential within your organization. Discover how to enhance the working relationship between Boomers and Gen Y. And explore the role of Generation X, often perceived to be stuck in the middle, in the overall generations in the workplace discussion. Attendees will hear from three companies that are harnessing the talent of their multi-generational workforce to achieve needle-moving business results.

GLOBAL WEB SEMINAR: Africa
In today’s global economy, emerging markets in Africa remain surprisingly unchartered territories for U.S. corporations despite the fact that they offer huge untapped opportunities. Many American organizations are not, as a rule, investing in exploration of the region, most likely because a large part of the U.S. business community is woefully lacking in knowledge of how these local cultures operate. Yet, there is little doubt that those U.S.

In the past two decades, we have seen groundbreaking work in the sphere of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. In most public and private institutions, the role of Chief Diversity Officer has grown dramatically, both in visibility as well as in latitude. This growth has increased the ability of these practitioners to positively affect the strategic vision of their organizations. But diversity and inclusion structures are as varied as the myriad corporations and institutions they are meant to support.

Trends in Diversity & Inclusion Structure
October 2, 2012
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EDT
The last two decades have seen groundbreaking work in the sphere of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. In most public and private institutions, the role of chief diversity officer has grown dramatically, both in visibility as well as in impact. But diversity and inclusion department structures are as varied as the myriad corporations and institutions they support. Therefore, it is a good idea for organizations to reassess their configurations periodically by examining the pros and cons of each basic model, their reporting structures, and the scope of influence of their CDO and diversity and inclusion offices.
Join us at the Trends in Diversity & Inclusion Structure web seminar.
- Hear about different diversity and inclusion structures.
- Compare the roles, skills, and reporting framework for the Office of Diversity and Chief Diversity Officer across a variety of organizational examples.
- Study a cross-section of diversity office budgeting practices and see why certain diversity budgets are increasing, decreasing, or remaining static.
