Working Mother Research

Diversity Best Practices is proud to acknowledge so many of our member companies for the work they do to support parents and the advancement of women evidenced by their place on Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies List.

This year's class of winning companies goes the extra mile to support working-mom employees and nurture their careers: To start, they offer an average of nine weeks of fully paid maternity leave—up from eight last year and seven the year before.

The Methodology:

The 2017 Working Mother 100 Best Companies application included more than 400 questions on leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, flexibility policies and more. It surveys the availability and usage of these programs, as well as the accountability of the many managers who oversee them. All applicants receive feedback showing how they compare with other applicants; however, the names of applicants that do not make the list are kept confidential. Company profiles and data come from submitted applications and reflect 2016 data.

Here are some highlights of DBP member’s accomplishments:

  • EY, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, Unilever and Prudential Financial are all TOP TEN companies
  • 21 DBP members are in the Working Mother Best Companies Hall of Fame, which means they have been on the Best Companies List for at least 15 years.
