Topic Overview
Currently, diversity in the workforce is not reflected equally within the hierarchical structure of U.S. corporations. According to a 2006 Bureau of Labor Statistics Study, almost half of all management positions are held by white men. Although white men make up the majority of the U.S. workforce, in some companies they are the least engaged in diversity efforts. Diversity and inclusion efforts have historically had a strong focus on minorities and women, and as such, many companies may be leaving the majority of their workforce namely white men out of the diversity conversation. In doing so, companies might be inadvertently creating a culture of exclusion, which goes against the very tenets of what it means to be an inclusive organization that values its people.
This web semninar will focus on how companies are seeking to include white men in diversity and inclusion efforts and how by doing so they are reaffirming to customers, shareholders, and to their workforce that diversity is about everyone not just a select few.
