Tim Cook

Tim Cook stepped into the role of Apple CEO in August 2011, an appointment that earned him the unofficial title of “the most powerful gay executive in the world.” Cook’s previous roles at the technology behemoth include Chief Operating Officer and executive vice president of strategic reseller and supplier relationships. Before joining Apple in 1998, Cook served as vice president of corporate materials for Compaq and Chief Operating Officer of the Reseller Division at Intelligent Electronics. He also spent 12 years at IBM. Cook holds an M.B.A. from Duke University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University.
