Diversity Leadership

The Diversity Best Practices (DBP) Council is made up of “best practices” companies who are members of Diversity Best Practices. The Council has the responsibility of exploring issues for in-depth discussion amongst fellow diversity practitioners. The Council makes recommendations to the staff of Diversity Best Practices on issues and areas of emerging importance within the practice of diversity to ensure the entire membership of Diversity Best Practices remains on the “cutting edge” of diversity management. Membership within the Council provides an opportunity for diversity leaders to engage one another in in-depth dialogues around the complex issues they are facing within their respective companies. Council members make a commitment to the membership of Diversity Best Practices to participate in three of the four established Council meetings during the calendar year.
Meet Our Diversity Council Members

Your membership in Diversity Best Practices is defined by you, and only you.
We meet our member companies where they are. We understand that developing successful diversity management requires an ongoing, strategically driven effort, not a one-time or one-technique initiative. At DBP we help translate knowledge into efficient, focused actions. DBP solutions are practical and proven. Our benchmarking content emphasizes not only what to do, but how to do it—from identifying targeted opportunities to understanding key issues to moving the conversation forward. Our solutions are fast and flexible to match your varied needs.
DBP Membership services help you clarify the opportunities and implications of your current diversity strategy, identify critical diversity leadership competencies, create a comprehensive diversity plan and gain the executive level support and change management processes needed to ensure success.
Meet Our Member Companies

The Diversity Best Practices Initiative began in 2001with our Leadership Award. In 2002, Roundtable was added. To build upon foundation, in 2004 we will integrate the role of the Chief Diversity Officer with the CEO and focus on the role Board of Directors. Diversity Best Practices will host with Linkage a Roundtable at Linkage’s annual conference in April. And, our partnership with “Profiles in Diversity Journal” continues with a series of articles that will showcase the CEOs Leadership around Diversity and Inclusion.
Message from the Chairman, Diversity Best Practices CEO Initiatives

The Diversity Best Practices Leadership Award Committee nominates and selects those CEO's who are leading corporations that they believe are best in class diversity leaders. Dan Carp, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Eastman Kodak Company, chairs the DBP CEO Leadership effort on behalf of Diversity Best Practices and its members and has helped create the criteria for selection and the nomination/selection process for award winners. The Summit provides access to business leaders on topics in all diversity areas and the Gala recognizes those leaders in the field.
