BOCA RATON, Fla.--Office Depot celebrating 25 years as a leading global provider of office supplies and services, today announced that Frantz Tiffeau, Senior Manager of Supply Chain Diversity for Office Depot was presented with the 2011 Supplier Diversity Advocate of the Year award at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) National Dinner, An Evening of Courage. The award recognizes an individual who demonstrates a robust commitment to increasing the reach of the NGLCC Supplier Diversity Initiative.
The award ceremony, which took place the evening of November 18, brought together more than 800 lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) entrepreneurs, business owners, affiliate leaders, members of the US Congress, and corporate allies from around the globe to celebrate the accomplishments of leaders in the LGBT business movement.
During his acceptance speech Tiffeau said, “I want to thank the NGLCC, not only for awarding me with this great honor, but for their leadership and dedication. They are making a true impact on the LGBT business community.” Tiffeau continued, “I am thankful too for the great fortune to work with some amazing LGBT entrepreneurs during the three years since Office Depot and I started our relationship with this organization. They have a passion like no other diverse segment that I work with, and have a true desire to improve business and economic opportunities in their communities.”
As Senior Manager of Supply Chain Diversity, Tiffeau is responsible for managing the national diverse reseller program at Office Depot and educating the Company’s sales organization on all aspects of Supplier Diversity. He started the first employee resource group for LGBT associates at Office Depot and worked towards achieving a perfect score for the Company on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. He also aided in developing the first and only LGBT Tier One Supplier Diversity partnership with Office Depot, and guided the Company to give both monetary and in-kind support to LGBT events such as the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Winter Party Festival and Miami Recognition dinner.
“We’re extremely proud of Frantz for receiving this amazing honor,” said Michael Allison, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Office Depot. ”He is a true leader in his field, creating change at Office Depot that enhances education, benefits and opportunities for our LGBT associates. We applaud Frantz for his efforts in this realm, and know that he will continue to push Office Depot’s supplier diversity programs to expand and grow.”
