Top Multicultural Women Share Their Secrets

Women of color are making gains at the C-suite level in U.S. corporations. Working Mother magazine assembled three top female executives to discuss stereotypes and handling negative feedback.

When asked how to move beyond stereotypes associated with women of color, Jackie Glenn, Chief Diversity Officer at EMC says, “Either address them head-on, or go the opposite way and do what people don’t expect.” In addition, Barbara Adachi, National Managing Principal at Deloitte, emphasized the importance taking risks, and being ready to “listen and absorb” both positive and negative comments.
