Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is expanding its low-priced drug program, saying on Monday that it now offers more than 1,000 over-the-counter items for $4 or less, and it will sell certain 90-day generic prescriptions for $10. Wal-Mart began selling some generic drugs for $4 per monthly prescription in Florida two years ago, but later extended the program to all its U.S. pharmacies.

According to Jodi Davidson, Sodexo’s Director, Diversity Initiatives, Sodexo has a variety of mentoring programs that are designed to meet the needs of different employee stakeholders in the organization. “We have a formal program called IMPACT, which is designed to be cross-divisional and cross-cultural in nature; Peer 2 Peer, our employee network group mentoring programs; and BRIDGE, which is available on a regional basis within our business lines,” Davidson noted.

Colgate-Palmolive stepped up its efforts to reach African-American consumers through two promotions that it unveiled recently. One featured the actress Holly Robinson Peete touting a new toothpaste, Total Advanced Whitening, while the second was a Mother’s Day promotion that featured Gospel artist Mary Mary. Though executives say the timing of the two efforts was coincidental, the campaigns do mark a concerted effort by the New York company to reach minority consumers.
