Cisco’s Conexion, as the name implies, is about connecting. The organization seeks to advance the Latino community by supporting development of professional excellence, improving business value, and facilitating technological empowerment in concert with Cisco partners, Latino-owned businesses, and community organizations worldwide. Although the ERG is focused on addressing the needs of the Latino community, participation in driving the goals of the organization is embraced by a wide spectrum of diverse people.

In 2000, the organization was founded as the first formal Employee Resource Group for Cisco. Starting with a Board of Directors, a Constitution and some ideas on how to transform the work development experience, several employees created an organization that would endure and become a strategic leader in the Inclusion and Diversity portfolio. Through that time, the strategy has evolved to support and enable Cisco goals. Today, Conexion focuses on Business Development, Talent Pipeline and Recruiting, and Professional Development for Employees.

Using the organization’s unique experiences and skills within the Latino business community, it also experience external growth as it supports and enhances Cisco Sales in this fast-growing market.
