Darlene R. Slaughter is Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for Fannie Mae. She is responsible for developing and supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce that integrates employees’ talents, perspectives, and experiences. Darlene leads the development, implementation, management, monitoring, and evaluation of corporate policies and programs as they relate to diversity and inclusion at the company. She also ensures awareness of diversity and inclusion concepts and their integration across the organization through employee resource groups and supplier diversity initiatives, by educating and partnering with our lenders, and by continuing to build the company’s diversity learning strategy.
During her 15-year career at Fannie Mae, Darlene has served in other HR roles, including HR Talent Team Manager and Senior Trainer. Prior to her tenure at Fannie Mae, she worked at AT&T communications in several roles, including process manager and quality consultant.
Darlene received a Master of Science in Human Resource Management/Organizational Development from American University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Howard University.
