Gretchen Buchmeyer currently serves as HR VP, Shell Upstream Americas – Deep Water, Shell Exploration and Production Co. She was born and raised near Chicago, and earned her BA from Cornell College, in Business and Political Science, and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
Gretchen started her Human Resources career with Shell in 1993, and has been in multiple HR generalist roles, Policy & Benefits, and in Mergers & Acquisitions. She has worked in HR leadership roles in Shell’s Downstream Manufacturing and global Retail businesses, based in the US and London. She has more recently been in Shell’s Upstream (Exploration & Production) business in Canada.
Gretchen is currently the Vice President HR for Shell’s Americas Deep Water business, with accountability for the US Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, with a focus on Talent Management, Organisational Effectiveness, Diversity and Learning. She is based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Gretchen, her husband Andrew, and children Abby & Jackson have enjoyed making New Orleans home.
