Janet Wigfield, executive director conferences& events, Diversity Best Practices

Janet Wigfield is Vice President/Executive Director of the Conferences and Events Division of Diversity Best Practices/Working Mother Media/NAFE. She oversees the content design and execution of major national events such as The Best Companies for Multicultural Women National Conference, The Network Affinity Leadership Congress, The 100 Best Companies WorkLife Congress as well as several regional Diversity Best Practices Best Practice Sessions and NAFE Women’s Leadership Summits.

Her background includes extensive experience as a conference program manager, video producer and educator.  She has been developing live face-to-face and web based business events for over 15 years for organizations such as CRM Magazine, Frost & Sullivan and Strategic Research Institute, where, in addition to her conference programmer duties, she was the Director of Research & Product Development. Prior to entering the conference industry, she worked for the City of Saint Paul as Cable Officer and Lead Video Specialist. She began her career as a high school English teacher in Minnesota.

She has a long history of volunteerism with nonprofit organizations including Stonewall Foundation where she is currently a member of the Board of Directors and the Women’s Honors Steering Committee, NY Metro Out & Equal Council, New York Youth at Risk, Spirit of the Lakes Church (Minneapolis) and Park Cable Works.

Janet has a MS in Public Administration from New York University and a BS in Speech Communication and English from the University of Minnesota.
