Linda R. Mona, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who serves as the Acting Director of Psychology Training at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. In this role, Dr. Mona participates in training interns and residents in addition to providing clinical services and conducting research. She leads the VA Psychology Multicultural Counsel which guides the direction of national VA psychology diversity training. Through her consulting business, Dr. Mona works with companies on strategies focused on infusing notions about disability into diversity in the work place. She challenges traditional medical notions of disability and reframes this life experience from a multicultural lens.
She has received numerous awards including recognition by the American Psychological Association and the Veterans Health Administration. She has published over 50 articles and delivered over 100 workshops on disability. Dr. Mona’s work has been featured on Oprah radio, Canadian Discovery Health, PBS, and Self magazine.
