Melissa Johnson

Program Manager Diversity & Inclusion, Best Buy ,  

Melissa Johnson leads Diversity & Inclusion programs at Best Buy. Two of the large programs she manages are Latino Initiatives for Human Resources and Field Employee Business Networks (EBNs). For Latino Initiatives, Melissa has led strategic work on language solutions, bilingual recruiting efforts, cultural competency building and many other supporting programs.


Under her leadership, Best Buy’s field Employee Business Networks have grown to be one of the largest field networks for retailers, with over 150 local chapters active in store locations. She has also recently shifted the operating model to  demand based, decentralized funding program where local leaders provide financial support for local EBN chapters. She is also now developing a Shared Interest Group (SIG) program to support other interests of Best Buy employees.


Melissa has worked at Best Buy for over 9 years. Prior to Best Buy, Melissa worked at United Health Group and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota in various training, project management and consulting capacities.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business. She lives in the Minneapolis area with her daughter, Alexis, and enjoys spending time with her family.
