Simone Morris is an enthusiastic, self-reliant, results-oriented PMP certified project manager with 19 years of business experience (predominantly in the consumer products goods industry). Simone joined Diageo (then United Distillers & Vintners) back in October 1998 as an application developer supporting Sales & Marketing functions with a primary focus on the Intranet. From there Simone moved on to Project Management with her first project to implement the Global Intranet in North America and moving on to be the Technical Project Manager responsible for implementing the Diageo One HR Self Service Portal. Simone has worked on implementing large projects in Diageo like SAP Business Warehouse in Canada as well as being an integral part of the Information Team delivering a global consolidated reporting system. These days, Simone is a part of the Global Sales & Marketing team in the role of Digital Technology Specialist responsible for the management of Digital Asset Development Projects while also functioning as the Global IS Program Manager for the Smirnoff.com website. Simone is currently the Chair for the African Heritage Employees at Diageo (AHEAD) Employee Resource Group. Simone’s leadership has helped the group to create a strategy focused on Recruitment & Retention, Culture & Diversity, and Commercial Platforms. Simone is embarking on the implementation of a Social Media Strategy for the AHEAD ERG to drive employee engagement.
Simone has a passion for learning and as such has embarked on a journey of continued personal development. She recently completed training on life coaching and has received the Certified Professional Co-Active credential from the Coaches Training Institute and the Associate Certified Coaching credential from the International Coaching Federation.
